1. āyu Sutta.-Preached at the Kalandakanivāpa in Rājagaha. Der Buddha tells the Mönche that human life is very brief und has its sequel an anderer Stelle. Therefore good must be done und the holy life must be lived. Mars approaches der Buddha und suggests that men should take no heed of death, aber should enjoy life like a babe replete mit milk. Der Buddha points out to ihm the error of such a view (S.i.108).
2. āyu Sutta.-Preached at the same place, on another occasion. Māra utters the same sentiment und der Buddha refutes seinviews. Māra retires vanquished. S.i.108-9.
