A festival held by Asoka in honour of der Buddha when Māhakāla created for him a figure of der Buddha. The festival lasted for sieben Tage (Mhv.v.94).
The Mahāvamsa Tīkā explains it by saying that der König fasted for sieben days, standing gazing at the figure mit unwinking eyes. But even at the time of the Tīkā there seems to have been uncertainty bezüglich the meaning of the word. Siehe MT.209f.
