1. Anabhirati Jātaka (Nr. 65).-Women cannot be regarded as private property. They are common to all; they extend universal hospitality.
Der Bodhisatta war einmal a famous teacher of Benares. A pupil of his, finding seiner Frau unfaithful, was so affected by the discovery that he kept away from classes. When asked why, he told seinteacher the whole story; the latter consoled ihm by telling ihm that all women were unfaithful.
Die Geschichte was told to an upāsaka who came to visit der Buddha. Once, on discovering seiner Frau's faithlessness, he had words mit her und kept away from the vihāra. J.i.301-2; siehe auch DhA.iii.348ff., where the details given are slightly different.
2. Anabhirati Jātaka (Nr. 185).-Told to a young Brahmanen of Sāvatthi who knew the drei Vedas by heart. When he married seinmind wurde darkened.
