If a man were to catch sechs animals - a snake, a crocodile, a bird, a dog, a jackal und a monkey - und tether them mit ropes, they would struggle to be free und to make off, each to sein own range oder pasture. So do a man's sechs senses. If the animals are strongly tethered, they will, mit time, grow weary und rest. So will the sechs senses if one practises attention to the body. S.iv.197; cp. Vsm.484.
