Die Geschichte of the past is the same as that of the Mahāsūka Jātaka (q.v.). It bezog sich auf in reference to der Buddha's visit to Verañjā, where, for the drei months of the rainy season, he had to live on water und a modicum of the ground flour of roots, because of the evil influence of Māra.
