Subha Todeyyaputta visits der Buddha at Jetavana und asks ihm why, among mankind, some are high und some low, some long-lived und some short, some handsome und some plain, some rich und some poor, etc. It is the result of their heritage from the past, answers der Buddha; their deeds are their possessions, their parents, their kindred und their refuge; he then proceeds to explain in detail (M.iii.202ff). Subha acknowledges der Buddha as sein teacher.

The Kommentar (MA.ii.962) calls this the Subha Sutta. Für Details of the circumstances in which the sutta was preached siehe Subha Todeyyaputta.
