A Sākiyan prince, son of Dīghāyu und, therefore, cousin of Ummāda-Cittā. Having heard of Cittā, he went to Upatissagāma und took service at the court of Panduvāsudeva.

 

There Cittā saw him und fell in love mit him und he visited her by night. When a child was conceived Citta was given to him in marriage.

 

This child was Pandukābhaya. Citta und Kālavela were servants of Dīghagāmanī. Mhv.ix.13ff; Dpv.x.8f.
