In several places in the texts fünf rivers are erwähnt as the fünf great rivers of India, und they are used in various similes und metaphors. These rivers are:

  1. Gangā,
  2. Yamunā,
  3. Aciravatī,
  4. Sarabhū und
  5. Mahī.
