• Vājapeyya

A sacrificial offering; the Commentaries (z.B., ItvA. 75, 76) give it two interpretations:

• (1) Greeting people kindly mit soft und pleasant speech (peyyavajjam, piyavācatā);
• (2) a sacrifice in which Soma (Vāja) is drunk.

In the second seventeen animals are offered seventeen times.
