A vihāra built by König Sūratissa to the east of Anurādhapura und near Dahegallaka (Mhv.xxi.60).
According to the Mahāvamsa Tīka (MT.424), Devānampiyatissa had auch built an Acchavihāra to the south of die Stadt, und in order that one might be distinguished from the other, Sūratissa's work was called Purimāyacchagallaka.
It was there that Vattāgamani Abhaya held a festival in honour of der Buddha mit der Hilfe von the Thera Mahātissa of Kuppikkala. Mhv.xxxiii.67-8.
