The young Sohn von wealthy parents of Rājagaha.

Having heard der Buddha preach at Veluvana, he wished to join the Order; aber could nur obtain sein parents' consent by starving for sieben days. He then went mit der Buddha to Jetavana. On the festival day sein parents made great lamentation und a slave girl offered to entice ihm back. She rode in a palanquin to Sāvatthi und took up residence in a street whither the Elder came for alms. She gradually made sein acquaintance, und then, feigning illness, enticed ihm into her apartments. Then, having violated sein chastity, she took ihm back to Rājagaha (J.i.156f).

Der Buddha, hearing of this, preached the Vātamiga Jātaka, in which story Tissa is identifiziert mit the antelope. He is auch referred to as Cullapindapātiya (J.i.159).
