Sakka visits the Buddha at the Migārāmatupāsāda und asks ihm how a Mönch can be delivered by the extirpation of cravings und become foremost among gods und men. Der Buddha briefly explains, und Sakka leaves ihm after expressing his satisfaction.
Moggallāna, desiring to know if Sakka has really understood the teaching, visits ihm und asks ihm the same question. Sakka evades this question und, accompanied by Vessavana, conducts Moggallāna through sein palace, Vejayanta, in order to demonstrate sein power. Moggallāna causes the palace to quake und, seeing the agitation of Sakka, again asks ihm the same question; Sakka gives der Buddha's explanation, word for word, und Moggallāna is satisfied. M.i.251ff
